Taxonomy
Popanoceras sintasense was named by Ruzhentsev (1956). Its type specimen is PIN 317/11572 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sintasa River, Kialy-Burtya basin, Aktobe Region, which is in an Artinskian marine sandstone in the Aktasty Formation of Kazakhstan.
