Taxonomy
Popanoceras polypetale was named by Ruzhentsev (1940). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhil-Tau Hill, Aktyubinsk Region, which is in an Artinskian marine dolomite in the Baigendzhi Formation of Kazakhstan.
