Taxonomy
Paragalathea was named by Patrulius (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1225]. It is not extant. Its type is Paragalathea verrucosa.

It was assigned to Galatheinae by Bishop (1985); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Galatheidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
