It was assigned to Pinnotheridae by Rathbun (1926), Via (1966) and Collins and Wienberg Rasmussen (1992); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Pinnotherinae by Morris and Collins (1991) and Collins et al. (2003); and to Pinnothereliinae by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Luque et al. (2017).
