Taxonomy
Tachyporus was named by Gravenhorst (1802). It is extant. It is the type genus of Tachyporinae, Tachyporini, Tachyporina.
It was assigned to Coleoptera by Gravenhorst (1802); to Staphylinidae by Scudder (1900) and Wickham (1912); to Tachyporini by Horn (1877), Herman (2001) and Bouchard et al. (2011); and to Tachyporina by Yamamoto (2021).
