Taxonomy
Taeniothrips (Balticothrips) streckelsbergi was named by Schliephake (1999). Its type specimen is Hoffeins 358/2, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Isle of Usedom, Baltic Amber, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Germany.

It was recombined as Taeniothrips streckelsbergi by Schliephake (1999) and Schliephake (2005).
