Taxonomy
Notocupes exiguus was named by Ponomarenko (1994). Its type specimen is PIN 3791/4296, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bakhar outcrop 275 (PIN collection 3791), which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian lacustrine - large claystone in the Togo-Khuduk Formation of Mongolia.
