Taxonomy
Metachorus striolatus was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is USNM 35386, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Indian Territory, which is in a Westphalian C/Westphalian D terrestrial horizon in Oklahoma.
It was recombined as Brachymylacris striolatus by Durden (1984).
