Taxonomy
Ranidina was named by Bittner (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: T Ol T Mi]. It is not extant. Its type is Ranidina rosaliae.

It was assigned to Raninidae by Rathbun (1926) and Müller (1984); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Notopodinae by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and van Bakel et al. (2012); and to Lyreidinae by Karasawa et al. (2014) and Schweitzer et al. (2018).
