Taxonomy
Martinia bassa was named by Crippa and Angiolini (2012). Its type specimen is MPUM 10835, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dorud section 03IR48, Elburz Mountains, which is in a Wordian carbonate wackestone in the Ruteh Formation of Iran.
