Taxonomy
Trichopeltarion was named by Milne Edwards (1880). It is extant. It is the type genus of Trichopeltarioidea, Trichopeltariidae.
It was assigned to Atelecyclidae by Feldmann and Keys (1992), Schweitzer and Feldmann (1999), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Luque et al. (2017); and to Trichopeltariidae by Tavares and Cleva (2010) and Schweitzer and Feldmann (2019).
