Taxonomy
Ctenoplectrella phaeton was named by Gonzalez and Engel (2011). Its type specimen is AMNH Ba-JVe-161, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic amber (AMNH collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
