Udorella was named by Oppel (1862) [Sepkoski's age data: J Tith-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Udorella agassizi. It is the type genus of Udorellidae.
It was assigned to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Udorellidae by Schweitzer et al. (2010).
