Taxonomy
Woodbinax was named by Stenzel (1952) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno]. It is not extant. Its type is Woodbinax texanus.

It was assigned to Podophthalminae by Glaessner (1969); to Decapoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Carcineretidae by Schweitzer et al. (2003) and Karasawa and Schweitzer (2006); and to Xanthoidea by Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Schweitzer et al. (2021).
