Ponopterix axelrodi
Taxonomy
Ponopterix axelrodi was named by Vršanský and Grimaldi (1999). Its type specimen is AMNH 43800, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil. It is the type species of Ponopterix.
