Discussion
Sepkoski considered Palaega a synonym of Bathynomus. Palaega is extinct (according to WoRMS), but Bathynomus is extant (and considered a valid, separate genus from Paleaga).
Taxonomy
Palaega was named by Woodward (1870) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u R]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Aegidae by Rathbun (1935); to Flabellifera by Gall (1971); to Isopoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cirolanidae by Wieder and Feldmann (1989), Feldmann and Rust (2006) and Jones et al. (2014).
