Taxonomy
Nebria nitens was named by Geinitz (1894). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Dobbertin, Mecklenburg (Greifswald collection), which is in a Toarcian offshore claystone in Germany.
It was recombined as Allognosis nitens by Handlirsch (1906) and Ponomarenko (1985).
