Taxonomy
Liassophila gemella was named by Sukatsheva (1985). Its type specimen is PIN 1874/31, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Iya Locality (PIN collection 1874), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small horizon in the Cheremkhovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
