Taxonomy
Productus leplayi was named by de Verneuil (1845). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bakhmout, which is in an Asselian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal marl in Ukraine.
It was recombined as Productus (Dictyoclostus) leplayi by Reed (1944); it was recombined as Retaria leplayi by Glushenko (1975).
