Taxonomy
Klipsteinia disciformis was named by Lukeneder and Lukeneder (2014). Its type specimen is NHMW 2012z0133/0290 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AS 6, Aşağiyaylabel section, which is in a Julian carbonate limestone in the Kasimlar Formation of Turkey.
