Taxonomy
Promylacris harei was named by Scudder (1895). Its type specimen is Coll Lacoe 2087a, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Kansas City, which is in a Stephanian terrestrial shale in the Chanute Formation of Missouri.
It was recombined as Amblymylacris harei by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906) and Handlirsch (1920).
