Taxonomy
Aechminella was named by Harlton (1933) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give-u C Bash]. It is not extant. Its type is Aechminella trispinosa. It is the type genus of Aechminellidae.

It was assigned to Drepanellinae by Khivintseva (1969); to Aechminellidae by Benson et al. (1961) and Hoare and Mapes (2000); and to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
