Taxonomy
Thamnasteria smithi was named by Squires (1956) [synonym: Pamiroseris smithi]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Lewiston locality, which is in a Sevatian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Martin Bridge Limestone Formation of Idaho.
