Craspedobolbina was named by Kummerow (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u S Prid Sepkoski's reference number: 2,77]. It is the type genus of Craspedobolbinidae, Craspedobolbininae.
It was assigned to Craspedobolbininae by Martinsson (1962); to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Craspedobolbinidae by Abushik and Evdokimova (2016).
