Taxonomy
Phyloblatta fracta was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is USNM 38897, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Cassville, which is in an Asselian terrestrial shale in the Cassville Shales Formation of West Virginia.
