Taxonomy
Etoblattina macerata was named by Scudder (1895). Its type specimen is USNM 38183, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Cassville, which is in an Asselian terrestrial shale in the Cassville Shales Formation of West Virginia.
It was recombined as Phyloblatta macerata by Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1906), Handlirsch (1920) and Handlirsch (1922).
