Taxonomy
Penaeus hamleti was named by Garassino and Harper (2004). Its type specimen is MGUH 27136, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Stolle Klint, which is in a Thanetian offshore claystone in the Ølst Formation of Denmark.
