Parahippa was named by Sethi (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov S Prid Sepkoski's reference number: 1047,ZR91]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Leperditellacea by Pribyl (1988); and to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
