Taxonomy
Phlyctiscapha was named by Kesling (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: D Gedi D Give Sepkoski's reference number: 136]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Beyrichiidae by Benson et al. (1961) and Kesling and Chilman (1978); and to Treposellinae by Tilman (1984).
