Taxonomy
Pentasteria (Pentasteria) tithonica was named by Kutscher and Röper (1999). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Papierschifer, Lower Tithonian, Hienheim, Ried, which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal mudstone in the Papierschiefer Formation of Germany.
