Taxonomy
Glypheopsis was named by Beurlen (1928). Its type is Orphnea ornata.

It was synonymized subjectively with Trachysoma by Schweitzer et al. (2010).

It was assigned to Glypheidae by Winkler (1883), Glaessner (1960), Feldmann and Keys (1992), Feldmann et al. (2015) and Charbonnier et al. (2023).
