Kirgizemys dmitrievi was named by Nessov and Khozatskii (1981). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mogoito, Promoina Klevenskogo, which is in a Valanginian terrestrial sandstone in the Murtoi Formation of the Russian Federation.
