Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
V. B. Sukhanov and P. Narmandakh 2006Medium-sized turtles (shell length up to 25 cm) with a small nuchal emargination. The shell is moderately domed, like in Mongolemys Khosatzky et Młynarski, 1971, almost oval in transverse section (not high trapezoid as in Lindholmemys Riabinin, 1935). The plastral buttresses are well developed, distinctly stronger than in Mongolemys, although weaker than in Lindholmemys. The shell plates are thickened. The pygal is twice wider than long. Being equal in size to Lindholmemys, Hongilemys does not have costalperipheral fontanelles, even small. The vertebrals are narrower than in Lindholmemys. The pleuralmarginal sulcus is restricted to the peripherals.
