Strombina carmencita was named by Lowe (1935). It is extant. Its type specimen is SDMNH 42909, a shell.

It was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) carmencita by Keen (1971); it was recombined as Strombina (Lirastrombina) carmencita by Jung (1989).
