Strombina lilacina was named by Dall (1916). It is extant. Its type specimen is USNM 211051, a shell.

It was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) lilacina by Keen (1971); it was recombined as Strombina (Lirastrombina) lilacina by Jung (1989).
