Taxonomy
Pyrene (Strombina) gradata humboldti was named by Rutsch (1934). Its type specimen is NMB H 1883, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina humboldti by Gibson-Smith and Gibson-Smith (1974); it was recombined as Strombina (Arayina) humboldti by Jung (1989).
