Taxonomy
Piarorhynchia viligensis was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 116/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Anmannykan River, Rhaetian, tributary of Viliga river, which is in a Rhaetian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
