Zugmayerella inaequiplicata was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 213/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Galechnyy Creek, Bol'shoy Anyuy River basin, which is in a Norian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
