Taxonomy
Piarorhynchia trinodosiformis was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 69/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Seykimnyan River, Indigirka River basin, which is in a Carnian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Planirhynchia trinodosiformis by Dagys (1974).
