Taxonomy
Piarorhynchia risilla was named by Dagys (1965). Its type specimen is IGiG 101/118 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rossokha (Bulun) River, below mouth of Tokur-Yuryakh River, which is in a Tuvalian marine siliciclastic in the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Planirhynchia risilla by Dagys (1974).
