Taxonomy
Coosia longocula was named by Palmer (1962). Its type specimen is USNM 143160, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Duck Creek [Raiff Limestone], which is in a Dresbachian marine limestone in the Raiff Limestone Formation of Nevada.
