Perichlamydium

Taxonomy
Perichlamydium was named by Ehrenberg (1847) [Test enucleate, with two chambers (longitudinally constriced), or formed of many chambers grown together (spread in a plane or rounded and subglobose). Chambers of test concentric or spiral, mostly delicate, spongy and irregular. Test circular, not radiate. Disc with arms. (Translated from Latin by E.M.R. and W.R.R.)]. It is extant. Its type is Flustrella praetexta. It was considered monophyletic by Ehrenberg (1847).

It was assigned to Euchitoniidae by Ehrenberg (1847); and to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
