Cypridina was named by Milne-Edwards (1840) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath R]. It is extant. It is the type genus of Cypridinidae, Cypridinacea.
It was assigned to Cypridinidae by Benson et al. (1961) and Crasquin-Soleau (1998); and to Myodocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
