Schubertella simensis was named by Ivanova (2000). Its type specimen is IGiG UrO RAN 4/161, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Koloslei, sample 1729-8A, which is in a Bashkirian carbonate limestone in the Tashastinsky Formation of the Russian Federation.
