Taxonomy
Anachis anomala was named by Gardner and Aldrich (1919). Its type specimen is USNM 499112, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina anomala by Gardner (1948); it was recombined as Sincola anomala by Jung (1989).
