Productus cristatotuberculatus was named by Kozlowski (1914).

It was recombined as Pustula cristatotuberculata by Kashirtsev (1959); it was recombined as Overtonia cristatotuberculata by Ustritsky and Chernyak (1963); it was recombined as Fimbrinia cristatotuberculata by Badyrka et al. (2013).
