Taxonomy
Protriticites tokerae was named by Okuyucu (2009). Its type specimen is MTA 2002/CO1-CE-6-1-2, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CE-6, Eskibey section, which is in a Kasimovian carbonate limestone in the Gavuralani Formation of Turkey.
