Taxonomy
Triticites ornatus was named by Anosova et al. (2007). Its type specimen is 506-61/12, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baibichtoo Range, Akbeit River, sample 61, which is in a Gzhelian carbonate limestone in the Kodzhagulskaja Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
