Eridoconcha was named by Ulrich and Bassler (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde-l D Fame Sepkoski's reference number: 736,1066].

It was assigned to Podocopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eridoconchidae by Henningsmoen (1953) and Jones and Olempska (2013).
