Taxonomy
Martinia clannyana was named by King (1848). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ryhope field-house farm (King collection), which is in a Wuchiapingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Ford Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Spirifera clannyana by Davidson (1858); it was recombined as Spirifer clannyanus by Geinitz (1861); it was recombined as Crurithyris clannyana by George (1931) and Trechmann (1945).
